Obtaining statements from the RA’s Government Database of Legal Entities
The Government Database of Legal entities of the Republic of Armenia operates the registration of legal persons on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, except for banks and credit institutions, and individual entrepreneurs, as well as, offices and branches of legal entities, providing for the registration of media operations.
As you may know the registration agency receives some information on the legal entities, which is entered in the Government Database of Legal Entities of the Republic of Armenia, where it is stored on record. It may be necessary to obtain extracts from the register to cross reference as and when needed. For example in certain circumstances the state bodies of the Republic of Armenia may require this information. At the conclusion of major business transactions there is often a need for a company inspection, examination and/or cross reference checks with the information stored in the database for a safe conduct of business.
One may get information about any legal entity directly from the office of the government database. One must submit an application and the receipt of payment, in some cases the services is free of state duty. Extracts from Government Database of Legal Entities of the Republic of Armenia are offered after the application has been received and the state duty paid where appropriate. Along with the paper copy, one may have access to information in an electronic form (e-register.am), where a 12(twelve)-digit code is required. The order of the Minister of Justice of the RA approved the procedure for providing such information. The order established that access to the information stored in the Government Database of Legal Entities of the Republic of Armenia is free and everyone has the right to receive complete information and/or part of it.
The information may include:
- Name of the entity;
- The address of the entity;
- The registration number of the entity;
- The organizational and legal form of the entity;
- The date of registration;
- The details on the founders of the legal entity;
- The process of liquidation when appropriate;
- The succession of legal entities;
- Information about the bodies of the legal entity;
- The tax number;
- The information on the activities of the legal entity;
- The annual accounts;
- The copies of the charter and the constituent documents of a legal entity;
- The passport data;
- Bank account data;
- The registration number of the individual entrepreneur.
Over the years our office has developed an effective system of receiving, accessing this sort of corporate information and other data on legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in the Republic of Armenia. Sometimes subjects of foreign economic activity may also need information about foreign legal entities.
