The European Court did not accept the new complaint filed by Azerbaijan as an independent complaint
On June 3 this year the European Court of Human Rights notified the RA Government that on June 1 and 2 this year Azerbaijan submitted a new interstate complaint to the ECtHR and an interim measures request, which refers to Armenia’s demand to provide maps of the allegedly mined territories.
The European Court considered the interstate complaint submitted by Azerbaijan as an integral part of the interstate complaint submitted to the ECtHR in January of this year, attaching thereto.
We note that, in turn, the Armenian government in early May of this year filed an addendum to the interstate complaint submitted on February 1, 2021 to the ECtHR in the case “Armenia v. Azerbaijan”, adding the previously submitted claims and attaching new evidence:
As for the Azerbaijani side’s claim for an interim measure, in this part the European Court informed the Azerbaijani government that on March 5 this year the European Court decided to reject the claim on the same issue due to the Court’s Rule 39, i.e. going beyond the interim measure.
