Armenia applies to ECHR demanding fundamental rights of six Armenian military servicemen

The Republic of Armenia has applied to the European Court of Human Rights demanding to ensure the fundamental rights of 6 Armenian military servicemen.

This is reported by Armenia’s representation at the ECHR.

To protect the rights of Armenian soldiers, who were taken prisoner during engineering works in the border area of Gegharkunik region of Armenia, the office of Armenia’s representative to the ECHR submitted an application to the European Court for the immediate application of interim measures against Azerbaijan in the early hours of May 27.

The purpose of the application is to guarantee the rights to life and protection against torture under the European Convention on Human Rights.
